Cambodia, France Discuss Agricultural Cooperation

Cambodia and France have discussed further cooperation on agriculture, especially on direct import of fresh apples from France to Cambodia, and export of fresh mangoes from Cambodia to France.

The discussion took place here in Phnom Penh on April 20 between H.E. Ngin Chhay, Director General of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Mrs. Marion Chaminade, Hanoi-based Regional Agri-food Counsellor, and Mr. Emmanuel Ly-Batallan, Economic Counsellor of the Embassy of France to Cambodia.

Both sides exchanged information on phytosanitary requirements and other necessary requirements of their respective countries for the import of fresh apples from France to Cambodia and the export of fresh mangoes from Cambodia to France.

The meeting also touched on the Rainfed Agriculture Technology Development Programme for Cambodia (RAD4CAM) (2023-2028) whose feasibility study has been being conducted, and the consideration for low-emission agricultural production project.
