Cambodia Makes US$1.15 Billion from Tax Collection in First Four Months

Cambodia generated about US$1.15 billion from taxes – the amount indicating an increase of about 26 percent compared to the same period last year.

The update was shared here yesterday in a work review meeting by the General Department of Taxation (GDT) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The income made is equivalent to 50.26 percent of 2019 planned tax collection, underlined GDT Director General H.E. Kong Vibol during the gathering.

For April 2019 alone, the GDT generated US$315 million, according to the figure it revealed.

H.E. Kong Vibol expressed his appreciation of the performance of his team and relevant stakeholders, and encouraged them to keep up the good work, particularly strengthening the E-VAT (value added tax) system as well as E-VAT refund.
