Cambodia Refutes Thailand’s Drone Violation Allegations

Phnom penh: The Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia has firmly rejected allegations made by Thailand on December 29, 2025, that over 250 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) had been detected entering Thai airspace from Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Department of National Defence, dismissed these claims in a press release issued this evening. The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces emphasized their commitment to implementing the Joint Communiqu© of the 3rd Special Meeting of the General Border Committee between Cambodia and Thailand, dated December 27, 2025. They also reaffirmed their adherence to the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement signed on October 26, 2025, and other related agreements.

The spokesperson underlined that these efforts are aimed at ensuring a quick return to peace, stability, and security for residents living along the border areas of both nations. Furthermore, she stated that the Ministry of National Defence, alongside provincial administrations in border regions, had issued stringent orders against launching any type of drone.

Lieutenant General Socheata concluded, "We confirm that no drone launch took place," reiterating Cambodia's stance on the matter.
