Cambodia Seeks to Establish a Growth Lab in Partnership with CAPRED

Cambodia: Cambodia has expressed its intention to establish a Growth Lab in collaboration with the Cambodia-Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development (CAPRED). Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met with Professor Ricardo Hausmann, Founder and Director of the Growth Lab at Harvard University, to explore the feasibility of establishing such a research centre in the Kingdom. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting 2026 of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that the Growth Lab is a leading research centre that applies rigorous economic analysis to support policy design and evidence-based growth strategies. This initiative aims to advance Cambodia's economic growth toward greater diversification and resilience through scientific research and the implementation of data-driven strategies.
