Cambodia: Cambodia received 1.75 million international tourists in the first half of 2026, according to the Ministry of Tourism's latest report released on July 24.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Chinese tourists were the largest group among international visitors, with 452,263 arrivals, making up 25 percent of the total. The Ministry also noted consistent tourist arrivals from Vietnam, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Indonesia, Australia, Japan, and South Korea during the same period.
The report highlighted that about 62 percent of foreign tourists entered Cambodia by air, with the remaining visitors arriving through land border checkpoints and waterways. Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak emphasized the importance of tourism to Cambodia's economy, referring to it as the country's "green gold." He also noted that Cambodia remains open and safe for tourists, benefiting from improved infrastructure and expanded regional air connectivity.
The Ministry has increased efforts to promote travel during the "Green Season," aiming to attract tourists by showcasing Cambodia's natural landscapes, ecotourism attractions, and cultural heritage during the traditional low season. Additionally, the report mentioned that 536,488 Cambodian citizens traveled abroad in the first half of 2026.
