Cambodia Tax Forum 2026 Strengthens Compliance

Phnom penh: The Cambodia Tax Forum 2026 was held on February 5 with the goal of enhancing tax compliance to support the ongoing development of Cambodia's economy. The forum served as a platform for discussing challenges and generating solutions aimed at improving service delivery and the efficiency of tax system management.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event took place at the General Department of Taxation (GDT) Tower and was presided over by H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance. It also saw the participation of ministers from relevant ministries and institutions, along with Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the Private Sector Working Group for the Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF).

Senior officials from relevant ministries and institutions, as well as leaders and members of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, attended the forum. The gathering also included leaders of private sector working groups, company and enterprise representatives, and numerous national and international guests.

The tax forum focused on enhancing tax compliance as a means to further Cambodia's economic development. It aimed to disseminate information on tax obligations and progress on tax management system transformation, while also receiving suggestions on challenges faced in fulfilling tax obligations. The goal was to improve service delivery and the efficiency of tax system management.

Held annually, the Cambodia Tax Forum is seen as a crucial event for bolstering cooperation between the public and private sectors, as well as for increasing transparency and efficiency within Cambodia's tax system.
