Phnom penh: The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has forecasted continued cool and dry weather across Cambodia from Jan. 12 to 14. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, temperatures in the lowland areas are expected to range from a minimum of 17 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius, with northerly and northeasterly winds blowing at an average speed of five metres per second. No rainfall is forecast for provinces including Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Siem Reap, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Thbong Khmum, Prey Veng, Kandal, Svay Rieng, and Takeo, as well as for Phnom Penh capital. In the highland areas, minimum temperatures may drop to 14 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures are forecast to reach 28 degrees Celsius. Winds from the north and northeast are expected at an average speed of six metres per second. The provinces of Oddar Meanchey, Pailin, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Rattanakiri, Mondulkiri, Kampong Speu, Stung Treng, as well as the Cardamom and Dang rek mountain ranges, are also expected to remain dry. Meanwhile, coastal regions will see temperatures ranging from 18 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius, with northeast and southeast winds averaging five metres per second. Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, and the Bokor mountain area are forecast to experience no rainfall. Sea waves are expected to range from 0.50 to 1.00 metre in height.
