Cambodia and Vietnam are fostering collaboration on the development of legislative and judicial sectors along border provinces.
The commitment was made by H.E. Ang Vong Vathana, Minister of Justice in the 2nd Law Conference of Cambodia-Vietnam's border provinces, in Siem Reap provincial city of Cambodia on Wednesday.
Vietnamese Minister of Justice H.E. Le Thanh Long, many senior officials and representatives from the two countries' ministries and concerned institutions were also present in the event.
H.E. Ang Vong Vathana underlined that this law conference followed fruitful result of the first one hosted by Vietnam in 2017, adding that it is a high-level legal platform for both countries to exchange views and experiences and to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation.
Thanks to the good cooperation, Cambodia and Vietnam have achieved remarkably in cracking down and preventing cross-border crimes, solutions for border problems, provision of good judicial services, and the maintenance of social security and public order along the border provinces.
The two sides also agreed on legal and justice cooperation framework to facilitate the enforcement of civil and criminal laws, extradition treaty, and transfer of prisoners.
