Mongolia: Cambodian athletes had claimed seven medals at the 2026 Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in Mongolia as of 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 5, delivering an encouraging performance while the Kingdom also secured the right to host the next continental championship in 2028.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Keo Remy, Senior Minister and President of the Cambodia ITF Taekwon-Do Federation, announced that the medals were won in the patterns (Tul) and power breaking events. The medal winners include Siv Sereyboth and Serey Ratanavong, who both captured gold medals, and Dim Chhaykunthavoreak, who earned a silver medal. Lim Kheng claimed silver in the women's power breaking event, while Net Hakly secured silver in the men's power breaking event. Serey Ratanapong and Leng Chhorkitya both won bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Cambodia was unanimously selected to host the 12th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships in 2028. The decision came after Cambodia successfully defeated competing bids from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. This decision was made during the General Assembly of the Asian Taekwon-Do Federation (ATF), which took place in Mongolia on Aug. 4 on the sidelines of the 11th Asian ITF Taekwon-Do Championships.
The continental tournament is taking place in Mongolia from Aug. 3 to 9, with Cambodia represented by a 47-member delegation, including 32 athletes from the junior and senior national teams.
