Cebu: The top diplomats of Cambodia and the Philippines have demonstrated warmth, closeness, and a strong spirit of solidarity as members of the ASEAN family, reaffirming their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this commitment was highlighted during a bilateral meeting between Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, and H.E. Ms. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, on Cebu Island, Philippines on Jan. 29, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Retreat.
Following their previous meeting in Malaysia in late December 2025, the two Foreign Ministers exchanged warm regards and discussed various initiatives aimed at further deepening bilateral cooperation.
On the occasion, the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister extended his warm congratulations to H.E. Ms. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro on the Philippines' ASEAN Chairmanship this year. He expressed his firm belief that her extensive experience and diplomatic skills would be instrumental in addressing complex and challenging regional and global issues.
