Phnom Penh: Three Cambodian international boxers and a coach will join the Asian Youth Games U22 in Sri Lanka.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the three boxers are Mr. Nea Sovann, who will compete in the 48 kg category, Mr. Ron Vireak in 60 kg, and Mr. Long Novel in 51 kg. Mr. Cheng Dara, serving as the boxing coach, expressed confidence in the Cambodian athletes' prospects. He noted that despite their youth, the boxers have developed strong fighting skills and are diligently preparing for the competition.
The Asian Youth Games U22, scheduled from May 10 to 24, will welcome athletes from over 30 countries. This event marks Cambodia's third participation in such an international sports event. Previously, Cambodia secured one silver and one bronze medal in international boxing at the Asian Youth Games U22 in Thailand.
