Phnom penh: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a telephone conversation this afternoon with H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and ASEAN Chair 2025, during which he expressed his deep appreciation for Malaysia's continued active role in addressing the ongoing Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Thipadei also reaffirmed Cambodia's continued commitment to resolving the border issues through peaceful means, using the existing mechanisms and agreed principles-especially in line with the spirit of the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration of Oct. 26, 2025-in order to bring an end to the conflict and build peace between the two countries.
The discussion followed a serious incident on Nov. 12, when Thai military forces opened fire on innocent Cambodian civilians in Prey Chan village, O'Beichoan commune, O'Chrov district, Banteay Meanchey province, killing one person and injuring three others.
Cambodia strongly condemns this inhumane and brutal act, which clearly violates Cambodia's sovereignty, international law, the UN Charter, and the ASEAN Charter-particularly the Kuala Lumpur Joint Declaration signed by the Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Thailand under the witness of H.E. Donald Trump, President of the United States, and H.E. Anwar Ibrahim.
