Phnom penh: Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), has announced a donation of US$100,000 to China to support flood relief efforts following the devastation caused by Typhoon Noul. In a gesture of solidarity and compassion, she also sent a message of sympathy to the Red Cross Society of China.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Bun Rany addressed a letter to H.E. He Wei, President of the Red Cross Society of China, expressing her deep sorrow over the extensive damage inflicted by the severe flooding. The natural disaster, linked to Typhoon Noul, has affected multiple provinces in China, leading to the evacuation of nearly 900,000 people and resulting in several casualties.
"In this difficult time, on behalf of the Cambodian Red Cross and in my own name, I would like to donate US$100,000 to support the humanitarian operations of the Red Cross Society of China in responding to this disaster," wrote Samdech Bun Rany. She extended her deepest condolences to the families of the victims, particularly those who have lost loved ones.
Samdech Bun Rany also conveyed her wishes for a swift recovery in the impacted areas and expressed hope for good health and resilience among the Chinese populace as they navigate through this challenging period.
