Samrong: Secretariat of the Regional Border Committee (RBC), the 4th Military Region of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces on Oct. 8 issued an invitation letter to the Head of the RBC Secretariat of the 2nd Army Area of the Royal Thai Army, along with ten members, to attend a preparatory work meeting on Oct. 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Samrong city, Oddar Meanchey province of Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the update was shared by the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence in a press release this afternoon. The objective of the forthcoming meeting is to finalise preparations for the Cambodia-Thailand RBC meeting between the 4th Military Region of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the 2nd Army Area of the Royal Thai Army, with the aim of ensuring the upcoming discussions are progressive, constructive, and yield mutually positive results, the Ministry pointed out.
On Oct. 7, 2025, the 4th Military Region sent a second invitation to the Thai 2nd Army Area to attend the Cambodia-Thailand RBC meeting, scheduled from Oct. 15 to 17, 2025, in the Cambodian province of Oddar Meanchey. This meeting is held in accordance with the mandate given by the General Border Committee (GBC) and follows the agreement made at the First Extraordinary RBC Meeting on Aug. 27, 2025, with the goal of promoting the continued, full, and effective implementation of the ceasefire, seeking practical cooperation to enhance peace and stability, and facilitating a swift return to normalcy between the two countries.
