Cambodia’s Counterattacks Focus on Military Targets Only

Phnom penh: Cambodia's response to the Thai military's brutal and indiscriminate attacks is strictly limited to military targets, affirmed H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence. 'Cambodia has no other choice but to counterattack in self-defence against Thailand's aggressive military operations violating Cambodia's territorial integrity,' she stated at a press briefing this afternoon.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata reiterated that Cambodia's military response is directed exclusively at military positions, not civilian areas. Cambodia remains fully committed to international and humanitarian laws, as well as to the ceasefire and the Joint Declaration signed by the Prime Ministers of both countries on Oct. 26, 2025, under the witness of U.S. President Donald Trump and H.E. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and ASEAN Chair.
