Phnom penh: Koh Rong, one of Cambodia's premier island destinations, has been ranked among the World's 50 Best Beaches for 2026, according to the latest global listing.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Cambodian beach was placed 9th on the list, ahead of Thailand's Donald Duck Bay, and just behind Dhigurah in the Maldives and Playa Balandra in Mexico. Koh Rong Beach, located off Cambodia's mainland, is renowned for its long stretch of white sand and clear, shallow waters. Its limited development helps preserve a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, with expansive sandy areas and sections framed by lush tropical greenery.
The beach's size, clean water, and uncrowded setting make it stand out from busier destinations in the region. Topping the 2026 list was Entalula Beach in the Philippines, followed by Fteri Beach in Greece and Wharton Beach in Australia. Nosy Iranja in Madagascar, East Beach on Vomo Island in Fiji, and Shoal Bay East in Anguilla ranked fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.
