The summit was held in Phnom Penh on Sept. 1, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and business representatives to explore new opportunities for cooperation amid changes in the global economic and investment landscape.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, at the opening ceremony, H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Cambodia Investment Board at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), urged businesses and investors to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia. He emphasized considering Cambodia as a base for expanding production and business operations to regional and global markets.

He highlighted the need for closer connectivity between foreign investors and local enterprises, stating that foreign investment should contribute not only to the creation of factories and jobs but also to the transfer of knowledge and technology and the development of human resources in Cambodia.

H.E. Chea Vuthy noted that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been implementing measures to promote long-term investment and improve the business environment. These measures include human resource training, infrastructure improvements, reducing trade and investment costs, and strengthening the CDC's One-Stop-Service mechanism to provide investors with convenient, fast, and efficient services.

In addition, the government is promoting the use of digital technology in investment project registration and implementing measures to facilitate investment. The Cambodian Investment Board is prepared to welcome, facilitate, and support investors throughout the entire investment cycle in Cambodia, from decision-making to the implementation and expansion of investment projects, he added.

Despite global uncertainty, geopolitical shifts, conflicts, and the reorganization of global supply chains, H.E. Chea Vuthy emphasized that significant opportunities for cooperation remain. He underlined that the China-ASEAN Entrepreneurs Summit should serve as a forum for turning dialogue into cooperation and cooperation into practical investment opportunities.
