Phnom penh: Cambodian Minister of Health H.E. Prof. Cheang Ra presided over the official launch of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) for General Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, and Dentistry, aimed at promoting quality, safe, and equitable health services for all patients.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the CPGs are designed to support comprehensive health system reforms by providing operational guidelines and action packages for the development of referral hospitals, strengthening the national referral system policy, and promoting hospital accreditation standards.
The Ministry of Health stated that the CPGs would enhance governance to ensure higher quality care and continuous improvement, with the ultimate goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage in line with Royal Government policies and national health strategic plans.
H.E. Prof. Cheang Ra noted that the official launch marks a significant milestone in ensuring that all patients have access to evidence-based and people-centred care. He emphasized that effective medical practice depends on informed human resource decisions supported by clear and consistent clinical standards.
