COSMOPOINT DETERMINED TO PREPARE GRADUATES TO FACE WORKING WORLD

BANGI, Cosmopoint College, which has 10 campuses in nearly all the major cities in the country, is determined to prepare its graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to face the working world in the future.

Cosmopoint College Ipoh chief executive Dr Kogilathah Segaran said each teaching module is constantly updated to provide students with marketability in the current economy.

"Each student will follow the Gerenti Kerja or GERAK programme which is the only pilot programme of its kind in Malaysia. and which will be an additional 'recipe' for each student to prepare before stepping into the working world," she said in his opening speech at the Cosmopoint College 26th convocation ceremony today

Today's convocation saw a total of 1,387 students receiving their scrolls for certificate and diploma-level courses.

Kogilathah, who represented nine chief executives of other Cosmopoint branches, said this year, all 10 Cosmopoint College campuses nationwide were accorded competitive private higher education institutions (IPTS) based on the Malaysian Quality Evaluation System for Private Colleges (MyQUEST), a rating system developed by the Higher Education Ministry to gauge the level of quality of private colleges.

“This represents the highest level of IPTS awards by the ministry for those who are excellent and meet the strict evaluation criteria as well as are able to compete at a higher level," she added.

Meanwhile, Chong Wei Jing, who graduated with a diploma in accounting, received the Chief Executive’s Award as well as the Bestari Award and hopes to work in one of the top four accounting firms in the country.

"I hope to continue studying for the ACCA professional paper to become an auditor to hone my skills for the future of the company I work for," she said, adding that the key to success is diligence.

She called on students to double their efforts in their studies if they want to succeed and to treasure knowledge as this will stand them in good stead.
