COVID-19: 23 New Recoveries, but 12 New Infections

Cambodia this morning announced the recovery of 23 more patients from COVID-19; bringing the total cured cases in the Kingdom to 133,244, according to a press release of the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, 12 new cases of COVID-19, all of Omicron variant, were reported; the tally rose to 136,374, said the source, adding that no new death recorded; the death toll therefore remains at 3,056.

The Kingdom began to register new cases of COVID-19 since June 29, 2022 after 52 days of zero infection.

Recently, Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has confirmed no planned COVID-19 lockdowns thanks to the country’s high vaccination rate, but urged his compatriots to adhere to the health safety rules, particularly the “Three Dos, Three Don’ts” and to get the booster doses against the pandemic.

The first COVID-19 case was detected in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province.
