Phnom penh: Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Permanent Vice President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC) and senior representative of its President, presided over a handover ceremony of significant humanitarian aid from the Oknha Association of Cambodia.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the donation is directed to support the livelihoods of heroic soldiers, their families, and displaced Cambodians. The Oknha Association of Cambodia contributed a financial sum of US$1,005,000 along with 500 boxes of purified water to the CRC. These contributions are intended for distribution as relief packages to soldiers, their families, and displaced individuals in camps.
The CRC plays a vital role in delivering aid to Cambodians across various social strata, especially during crises. In times of national armed conflict, soldiers, their families, and many refugees face significant challenges due to ongoing hostilities. The CRC leadership actively visits these groups to provide necessary support, sustenance, and enhanced living conditions, ensuring that victims are not left in starvation or destitution.
Moreover, both national and international philanthropists frequently partner with the CRC, offering funds, essential materials, and blood donations to bolster the organization's extensive humanitarian efforts.
