Cuban Leaders Extend Congratulations to Cambodia on Independence Day

Phnom penh: Cuban leaders have expressed their warmest congratulations to their Cambodian counterparts on the occasion of the celebration of Cambodia's National Independence Day.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Miguel D­az-Canel Bermºdez, President of the Republic of Cuba, sent a congratulatory message to His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia. In his message dated November 9, President D­az-Canel extended his best wishes for the well-being of the Cambodian monarch and his people. He also reiterated Cuba's commitment to strengthening the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

In a separate congratulatory note to Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, President D­az-Canel reaffirmed his dedication to working on the implementation of high-level agreements, drawing upon the historic relationship between Cuba and Cambodia.

Meanwhile, Cuban Foreign Minister H.E. Bruno Rodr­guez Parrilla conveyed to Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Cuba's commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between both nations.

The Cambodian people are celebrating the 72nd anniversary of their national independence from France, which was achieved on November 9, 1953.
