Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sarkheng has received newly-appointed Representative of United Nations child rights agency UNICEF Ms. Cristian Munduate.
In the meeting taking place yesterday here in Phnom Penh, Ms. Cristian Munduate informed Samdech Sar Kheng of her missions in Cambodia focusing mainly on child protection and their social welfare.
The new representative of UNICEF affirmed that her oganisation will continue its technical assistance in order to further strengthen capacity of Cambodian officials to promote their works especially on child protection at grassroots level.
Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng warmly welcomed and congratulated Ms. Cristian Munduate for her assignment in Cambodia, stressing positively that her missions will contribute significantly to the country's endeavour to promote child rights.
The deputy prime minister also spoke highly of the organisation's collaboration with the ministry and national committee for sub national democratic development by far, especially in child and youth related issues.
