Cebu: Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn attended the ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting (AMM) Retreat on Cebu Island, Philippines, on Jan. 29.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a news release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) this evening reported that H.E. Ms. Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines and ASEAN Chair, opened the meeting by briefing participants on her priorities for 2026. She emphasised enabling ASEAN to address both current and emerging challenges to build a sustainable and resilient ASEAN Community, in line with the theme "Navigating Our Future, Together".
The meeting also discussed follow-up progress from the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting regarding the current situation between Cambodia and Thailand, held on Dec. 22, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Cambodia reaffirmed its strong commitment to resolving disputes peacefully, in accordance with international law, existing treaties, and agreements, to ensure regional peace and stability, as stated by the MFAIC.
