Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Yim Chhay Ly has praised the efforts of Ministry of Commerce in market expansion for Cambodia's milled rice.
H.E. Yim Chhay Ly made the appreciation while presiding over the closing ceremony of Annual Conference Meeting and Election for the leadership of 3rd Mandate of Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF), at Phnom Penh Hotel, late last week.
H.E. Chhay Ly, also Chairman of Council for Agricultural and Rural Development, appreciated good collaboration between the ministry, and the rice federation as well as other stakeholders.
To strengthen the development of paddy rice sector, H.E. Yim Chhay Ly suggested strengthening and expanding cooperation with all stakeholders and development partners.
He also encouraged the maintenance of equal competition to boost effective and transparent export, interests of farmers and agricultural communities through increased income and poverty alleviation, enhancement of food security, and sufficient and healthy nutrition for Cambodians, particularly children.
The deputy prime minister called for participation from farmers and local communities, and protection of their interests through establishment of favorable environment and the ease of rice production and supply with quality as a priority.
