Exports fall 13.4 pct from March 1-10

South Korea's exports fell more than 13 percent on-year in the first 10 days of March due mainly to fewer working days, data showed Monday. Outbound shipments reached US$13.54 billion in the March 1-10 period, compared with $15.64 billion tallied a year earlier, according to the data from the Korea Customs Service. Imports lost 28.6 percent on-year to $14.8 billion during the period, resulting in a trade deficit of $1.3 billion. In February, exports advanced 4.8 percent on-year to $48.1 billion, the fifth consecutive monthly gain, on the back of strong demand for semiconductors. Source: Yonhap News Agency
