Banteay meanchey: A delegation of foreign military attach©s continued their inspection mission to the Boeung Trakuan Pass area and an unexploded ordnance site in Thmar Puok district, Banteay Meanchey province, as part of ongoing efforts to assess the post-ceasefire situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, stated that the inspection, facilitated by the Ministry, took place at 1:41 p.m. and focused on areas that were heavily attacked by Thai military forces in December 2025. The attacks resulted in the destruction of houses, civilian shops, and public infrastructure. The delegation also observed locations where barbed wire had been laid and shipping containers were illegally installed and occupied by Thai forces.
During the visit, the delegation examined the current situation on the ground, including the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, which came into effect on Dec. 27, 2025.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirmed their commitment to fully and responsibly respect and implement the Joint Statement of the 3rd Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee dated Dec. 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand dated Oct. 26, 2025, and other relevant agreements.
Cambodia emphasised that these commitments aim to facilitate rapid improvement of the situation and ensure the restoration of normalcy, peace, stability, and long-term security along the shared border.
