Phnom penh: The '18th Cambodia Trade Expo' (CTExpo) kicked off this morning at PH Grand Hall Centre, Borey Peng Huoth Boeung Snor, Phnom Penh, under the theme 'Trade Renaissance: Local Products Empowerment.' H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), presided over the four-day annual event, organised by the Ministry of Commerce.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the 18th CTExpo is held with innovation, vibrancy, diversity, and timeliness. Its objectives are to promote and showcase Cambodia's potential products and services, aiming to enhance domestic market connectivity and create opportunities for national and international business matching. It also serves as a platform to disseminate information about Cambodia's economic, trade, and investment opportunities.
In addition to the rich display of product and service booths from domestic and international companies, the event features several important supporting programmes: (1) Spotlight on Cambodia's Export Sector; (2) Business Matching Programme on "Market Opportunities for Cambodian Products in the New Era"; (3) Women in Commerce Forum; and (4) Cambodia Public Services Pavilion.
Addressing the function, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the utmost attention and efforts of Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister, the top leader of the Royal Government of Cambodia, which serve as the foundation for development, poverty reduction, and especially, the remarkable transformation of Cambodia's image on the international stage.
He also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Commerce in implementing the Royal Government's strategies and policies to develop Cambodia's trade sector and boost international commerce. In particular, he highly praised and congratulated the Ministry for their energetic organisation, which led to the Cambodian National Pavilion receiving the "Bronze Award" in the global exhibition design category (Module Pavilions) at the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, held recently.
Through the modern organisation, attractive d©cor, and the high-quality products displayed at this grand 2025 CTExpo, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister expressed his expectation that the event will become a fantastic experience and a key driving force for Cambodia's economic growth in the new era of commerce. Crucially, it is expected to accelerate and boost domestic commercial activities and further connect the local market.
Furthermore, the 18th Cambodia Trade Expo will help national businesses and international investors gain a clearer understanding of Cambodia's potential and the priority incentive packages provided by the Royal Government for investment, serving as a basis for deciding to invest or partner with local businesses to bring high-quality Cambodian products to the international market.
