Siem reap: The French-Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Siem Reap Chapter, has pledged to collaborate with Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism to enhance the country's tourism and investment prospects in anticipation of the 20th Francophonie Summit in Siem Reap in 2026.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, this commitment was emphasized by Mr. Fran§ois Schnobelen, President of the French-Cambodian CCI (Siem Reap Chapter), during a meeting with H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, in Phnom Penh on December 4. The discussions focused on tourism-sector collaboration, with association members offering recommendations and initiatives to strengthen tourism, improve the business climate, and boost investment effectiveness.
H.E. Minister Huot Hak expressed gratitude to the association for its unwavering confidence in the Royal Government's leadership, as evidenced by continued investments from its members and the valuable initiatives proposed. He also informed the Chamber about the immediate and medium-term measures being prepared by the Ministry of Tourism to address current challenges. The Minister emphasized the importance of the French-Cambodian CCI as a key partner in supporting Cambodia's tourism development and investment growth.
Mr. Schnobelen, who has lived and conducted business in Cambodia for many years, expressed his admiration for the Cambodian people's love of peace and hospitality. He commended the country's warm welcome, social harmony, and development across all sectors under conditions of peace and security. He reiterated the Chamber's dedication to promoting Cambodia's tourism potential and investment opportunities to French tourists and investors.
The meeting also included discussions on proactive joint preparations for the Francophonie Village at the 2026 Summit. The goal is to make it an attractive, vibrant, and content-rich showcase of Cambodia's tourism strengths and investment prospects to high-level delegates, participants, and the international community.
