Golden Hanuman 2019 Concluded

The Golden Hanuman 2019 conducted by the Royal Cambodian Army was wrapped up successfully yesterday at Techo Sen Chum Kiri Military Field in Kampot province.

The closing ceremony of this five-day live-fire exercise was presided over by H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF).

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen said this drill is part of military and strategic capacity building of Cambodian armed personnel.

From May 4 to 8, 2019, the Golden Hanuman 2019 attracted more than 2,391 soldiers with a dozen types of weapons, including nearly 300 military vehicles and equipment, 20 BM-21, RM-70 rocket launchers, and even helicopters.

This exercise reflected the commitment and efforts of armed personnel to ensure effective national defence, good solidarity to protect and maintain peace, stability and development in all sectors of the country said Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of RCAF and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army.

Cambodia has been paying high attention to strengthening its national defence. Beside this local military drill, RCAF successful conducted in March the 3rd Golden Dragon military exercise, in collaboration with the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

The Golden Hanuman 2019 was the fourth of its kind following the first in 2010, the second in 2013 and the third in 2018.
