National Election Committee (NEC) is a state's independent entity implementing works in accordance to the country's constitution, and without partiality to political parties.
The remark was underlined by the committee's president H.E. Sik Bunhok during a recent meeting with a visiting delegation from American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) here in Phnom Penh, according to the update by H.E. Hang Puthea, NEC's Spokesperson, following the meeting.
In the meeting, H.E. Sik Bunhok explained the ACYPL's delegation about Cambodia's election process, adding that they were always carried out in fair and transparent manner.
The NEC's president reportedly continued that to enhance the country's democracy an build trust among people and all politicians, the committee is working hard to abide by its principle of independence, especially for elections.
The entity is also accountable for the respects of election right and freedom of expression, and encouraged all parties to peacefully resolve their conflicts for the best interest of the nation and people.
