His Majesty the King Extends Congratulations on 70 Years of Cambodian-Lao Diplomatic Relations

Phnom penh: His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Cambodia and Laos.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in a royal message dated June 10, the monarch conveyed his warmest congratulations and best wishes to President Thongloun Sisoulith and the people of Lao PDR. His Majesty the King noted that over the past seven decades, the formal relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Lao PDR have steadily flourished, underpinned by steadfast friendship, fruitful cooperation, and frequent exchanges at all levels. He highlighted that the fraternal bonds between the two peoples have remained as strong and enduring as the flow of the Mekong River, which has long nourished and connected both nations.

'As we commemorate this important milestone, I wish to reaffirm the commitment of the Kingdom of Cambodia to further strengthening and expanding our traditional friendship and close cooperation under the Comprehensive and Long-lasting Strategic Partnership, for peace, development and prosperity of our two nations and peoples,' he wrote. His Majesty also extended his best wishes for President Thongloun Sisoulith's good health and continued success in serving the people of Lao PDR.
