Industry Minister Supports Angkor Dairy Products’ Expansion as Strategic Initiative

Phnom penh: H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, has expressed strong support for Angkor Dairy Products' expansion efforts, emphasizing the strategic importance of local dairy production. During a meeting with a delegation from the company, which produces Angkor Milk, the Minister welcomed the company's growing investment and contribution to Cambodia's consumer goods sector. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Minister praised Angkor Dairy Products as a significant taxpayer and a crucial domestic producer that meets Cambodia's consumption needs. He highlighted the importance of dairy products as strategic goods for the Royal Government and urged the company to continue its expansion to bolster Cambodia's manufacturing self-reliance. The Minister also assured the company of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation's (MISTI) support for its ongoing growth. Mr. Koy Sovann, Director of Sales and Marketing at Angkor Dairy Products, shared that t he company, established in 2015 with an initial investment of US$15 million, has grown its capital to US$75 million. It currently employs around 600 workers and reaches consumers nationwide through about 50,000 sales channels and a 600-member business-to-business network. The company announced plans to launch new pasteurized milk products, introduce new machinery, and expand dairy farming and contract farming with local families-a move expected to create approximately 200 additional jobs. The Minister encouraged the company to enhance local sourcing within its supply chain and explore broader collaborations with MISTI, including joint research and development in food science, packaging, and industrial waste management. He also invited Angkor Dairy Products to present its innovations at the upcoming 4th National Day of Science, Technology and Innovation. In a gesture of goodwill, Angkor Dairy Products donated 1,000 cases of milk to MISTI for humanitarian and charitable activities.
