Japan Supports Establishment of Teacher Education College in Kampong Cham Province

Phnom penh: Cambodia and Japan on Tuesday signed an Exchange of Notes and related documents on the extension of Japan's Grant Aid worth JPY 1.189 billion (approximately US$8 million) for the implementation of the Project for the Establishment of the Teacher Education College in Kampong Cham Province. The signing ceremony was held between H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, and H.E. Ueno Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, under this grant assistance, the Teacher Education College in Kampong Cham Province will be equipped with the necessary facilities and educational resources. The project is expected to contribute to strengthening Cambodia's teacher education system and improving the quality of basic education across the country.

The Grant Aid reflects Japan's commitment to promoting Cambodia's socio-economic and human capital development, as well as to deepening the Cambodia-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Ministry emphasised.
