KG Mobility, formerly known as SsangYong Motor Co., said Thursday its April sales slipped 1.8 percent from a year earlier due to sluggish domestic demand.
KG Mobility sold 9,751 vehicles last month, compared with 9,899 units sold a year earlier, the company said in a statement.
Domestic sales fell 34.4 percent on-year to 3,663 units amid sluggish demand.
The company’s exports, however, climbed 40.1 percent to 6,008 units thanks to strengthened sales overseas, including in Turkey, Australia and Hungary.
A KG Mobility official said the company will focus its efforts not only on increasing exports but also on strengthening its response to the domestic market.
