Rain throughout the day failed to dampen the spirits of 36 participants in the two-day Perlis-level 2023 Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG2023) convoy which flagged off today.
Perlis Information Department (Japen) director Azrul Hasan said the convoy comprised 21 high-powered motorcycle riders from the BMW K-16 Riders Club and 15 participants representing the Perlis bureau of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Perlis Japen and Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) Perlis.
“The (convoy) participants travelled 130 kilometres across three parliamentary constituencies, namely Arau, Kangar and Padang Besar,” he told Bernama today.
Meanwhile, Indera Kayangan assemblyman Gan Ay Ling, who accompanied the convoy, said there was an encouraging response from the community who braved the rain to come out and wave the Jalur Gemilang as the convoy passed the checkpoints.
“These are our primary goals… to build a patriotic spirit among the community and make the National Day the main celebration of Malaysians,” she said.
