Phnom penh: In a keynote address to provincial officials, H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, outlined a strategic roadmap for Koh Kong province, emphasising human resource development, technology adoption, and the eradication of tech-based crimes as critical to its future progress. The address was delivered at the closing ceremony of the Koh Kong Provincial Administration's annual meeting on Saturday, which reviewed 2025 outcomes and set priorities for 2026.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, as Head of the Royal Government's Working Group for the province, H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha presented key recommendations to enhance the coastal province's potential, security, and continued advancement. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted several priority areas for the provincial administration.
The administration must intensify training and development across all sectors, particularly by promoting education and the adoption of digital technology to keep pace with the modern economy. It is imperative to strengthen political stability, security, and public order. This requires decisive action to eliminate online gambling, tech-based fraud, and the spread of disinformation, which destabilises society.
H.E. Gen. Tea Seiha also stressed the need to improve land management, enhance the quality of healthcare services, and promote Koh Kong's tourism potential globally. Public service delivery must be fast, transparent, and non-discriminatory to build greater public trust in the administration. "Strengthening official capacity and ensuring comprehensive security are the fundamental pillars for serving the people and attracting more tourists and investors to this coastal province," he stated.
Concluding his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister commended the diligent efforts of all civil servants over the past year and urged continued unity to successfully achieve the 2026 work plan for the benefit of the nation.
