Kolmar Korea Co. on Friday reported its first-quarter net profit of 12.1 billion won (US$8.8 million), up 86.9 percent from a year earlier. The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 32.4 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 12.1 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 17.9 percent to 574.8 billion won. The earnings failed to meet market expectations.
