Phnom penh: The Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KOCHAM) has committed to strengthening cooperation with Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism, aiming to bolster cross-border collaboration and promote business-to-business (B2B) networking. This pledge was made during a working meeting held in Ho Chi Minh City, Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, between Cambodian Minister of Tourism H.E. Huot Hak and a delegation from KOCHAM, led by Chairman Kim Nyoun Ho, on August 25.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the KOCHAM delegation expressed appreciation to the Minister for the opportunity to present new initiatives targeting the expansion of KOCHAM members' business activities in Cambodia. KOCHAM emphasized its strong interest in Cambodia's tourism potential and confirmed its readiness to organize an official visit to Cambodia to explore tourism and investment opportunities firsthand.
H.E. Minister Huot Hak expressed gratitude towards KOCHAM for acknowledging Cambodia as a safe tourism destination with significant potential for business expansion and investment. He highlighted Cambodia's emergence as a promising destination for investors and reiterated the robust support and incentives the tourism sector receives from the Royal Government of Cambodia. Tourism has been recognized as a key pillar of the national economy under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.
The meeting resulted in a mutual understanding to enhance tourism cooperation between KOCHAM, Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism, and the country's private sector. The cooperation will focus on promoting Cambodia's tourism potential and investment opportunities to KOCHAM members, facilitating B2B networking between enterprises of both countries, and organizing a familiarization visit to Cambodia's key destinations with high tourism and investment potential in the near future.
