A high-level delegation of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, led by its Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, arrived here this morning for a two-day official visit in Cambodia, at the invitation of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The delegation was warmly welcomed upon their arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport by H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, and many other senior Cambodian government officials.
Lao Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Amphay Kindavong was also present on the occasion.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during his stay in Cambodia on Sept. 12-13, H.E. Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith will pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, and Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly.
The Lao leader will hold a bilateral meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen, during which various aspects of bilateral cooperation and border issues will be discussed. After the meeting, the two Premiers will preside over the signing ceremony of a number of documents, and then hold a joint press announcement.
H.E. Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith will also lay wreathes at the Independence Monument, and pay tribute at the Royal Memorial Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh, the Late King-Father of Cambodia.
The official visit of H.E. Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith in Cambodia will significantly contribute to further strengthening and expanding the long-lasting relations of traditional friendship, solidarity, fraternity and fruitful cooperation between Cambodia and Lao PDR.
