Lao President’s Upcoming State Visit to Cambodia Highlights Bilateral Ties

Phnom penh: H.E. Dr. Thongloun SISOULITH, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, is set to embark on a State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from February 6 to 7. The visit comes at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation released a statement on Tuesday detailing the agenda for the two-day State Visit. During the visit, His Majesty the King will grant a Royal Audience to H.E. Dr. Thongloun SISOULITH and host a State Banquet in his honor at the Royal Palace.

The itinerary also includes H.E. General Secretary laying wreaths at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM Sihanouk "Preah Borom Ratanak Kaudh", the late King-Father. In addition, H.E. Dr. Thongloun SISOULITH will engage in a high-level meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The visit is seen as a step toward reinforcing the friendly relations between Cambodia and the Lao PDR. The press release emphasized the shared commitment of both nations to enhance and deepen their cooperation under the Comprehensive and Long-Lasting Strategic Partnership, focusing on the development and prosperity of their countries and peoples.
