Listed Companies Reach 27, Raising US$700 Million in Capital

Phnom penh: The Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) has successfully listed 27 companies, comprising 12 equity companies and 15 bond companies, collectively raising a total capital of approximately US$703 million.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the report detailing these developments was released by CSX on January 21 during the official registration ceremony for the bond listing of Daun Penh Agrico Co., Ltd. The event was presided over by H.E. Dr. Hean Sahib, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia (SECC).

H.E. Dr. Hean Sahib noted that the bond issuance by Daun Penh Agrico sets a notable precedent for local enterprises aiming to access long-term, low-cost capital through the CSX. He pointed out that this approach offers business owners, both domestic and international, the convenience, speed, and flexibility to mobilize large-scale capital at low interest rates. This, in turn, enhances their potential for business expansion, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure and technology.

He further reiterated the Royal Government's view of the private sector as a crucial component in driving national economic growth and generating employment opportunities.
