Phnom penh: Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma, CEO of MinebeaMitsumi Inc., and his colleagues for a courtesy call and working discussion at the Peace Palace on Tuesday morning.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, Mr. Kainuma expressed his appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia and relevant ministries and institutions for their support of MinebeaMitsumi's operations in Cambodia, which have contributed to the company's success in the country. The CEO outlined the company's business progress and plans to inaugurate a new factory in Cambodia, signaling further investment expansion.
Mr. Kainuma highlighted that MinebeaMitsumi's success has attracted other Japanese investors to Cambodia, reaffirming the company's confidence in the country's investment climate and stability. The company is set to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its operations in Cambodia this December.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed satisfaction with MinebeaMitsumi's achievements in Cambodia, emphasizing that the company's success is also a success for the nation. The Royal Government will continue to support investors, ensuring a favorable and competitive investment environment.
The Prime Minister outlined policies and mechanisms to facilitate business in Cambodia, including reforms of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), support for SMEs, and investment incentives through tax concessions for strategic sectors. He encouraged MinebeaMitsumi to explore opportunities in domestic supply chains and maintain cooperation with relevant ministries for further growth.
MinebeaMitsumi Inc., a leader in manufacturing high-precision components, established its Cambodian subsidiary in 2010 and began operations in 2011. It operates a facility in Phnom Penh and is constructing a new factory in Krakor district, Pursat province, creating employment for nearly 10,000 Cambodians and contributing to the industrial sector's development.
