The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries signed here yesterday with the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) a document on strategic priority for research cooperation in agriculture sector 2019-2029.
H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and H.E. Ms. Angela Corcoran, Ambassador of Australia to Cambodia were the signatories.
The signed document will play a vital role in agricultural research contributing to more development of the sector, therefore ensuring food supply, productivity, market safety and competitiveness, said H.E. Minister of the occasion.
For her part, the Australian ambassador reaffirmed the long-lasting and strong partnership between the Government of Australia and the Royal Government of Cambodia, particularly the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in agricultural development.
The 2019-2029 document will cover the provinces of Kampot, Takeo, Kandal, Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, and Siem Reap.
