Phnom penh: H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Cambodia's Minister of Women's Affairs, met with Mr. Enrico Gaveglia, the UNDP Resident Representative in Cambodia, to discuss ongoing efforts to promote gender equality.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting included discussions on emerging social and global development trends and explored new opportunities to strengthen collaboration in areas like gender-responsive budgeting and data-driven strategies to accelerate inclusive economic growth. The Minister expressed appreciation for UNDP's long-standing partnership since 2001, which has supported gender equality and sustainable development through capacity building, policy support, and initiatives promoting women's leadership in economic development and governance.
Currently, the Ministry of Women's Affairs of Cambodia and UNDP are jointly implementing the Institutional Transformation for Gender Equality (ITGE) project. This project aims to strengthen gender-responsive budgeting, enhance gender data and research, and foster greater engagement of the private sector, youth, and civil society in promoting equality.
