MoEYS and ADB Discuss Strengthening Education Development Cooperation

Phnom penh: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing their cooperation on education development within Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting, held on February 25, featured H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, and Mr. Nianshan Zhang, Director General of ADB's Southeast Asia Regional Department. They were joined by H.E. Ms. Yasmin Siddiqi, ADB Country Director for Cambodia.

During the talks, ADB representatives highlighted the robust cooperation between the two entities and expressed their desire to further expand their collaboration with the Ministry, particularly in the realm of human resource development. They reiterated their commitment to assisting in overcoming challenges and supporting the Ministry's education reform strategy alongside the Royal Government's national development agenda.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed appreciation for the cooperation between MoEYS and ADB, noting its positive influences on society and the national economy through the enhancement of human capital. He emphasized the importance of ADB's role in contributing to the promotion of Cambodia's education system reform, aligning with the Royal Government's strategy for human resource development.
