Phnom penh: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) has partnered with Ng Teng Fong Foundation to launch a 'School Food Safety Campaign' aimed at promoting child health in Cambodia. This collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 13. The ceremony took place under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Hang Choun Naron, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MoEYS, at the ministry's headquarters in Phnom Penh.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the campaign is supported by YHS (Cambodia) Food and Beverage Pte Ltd and focuses on raising awareness among primary and lower secondary school students about the benefits of consuming low-sugar beverages. The initiative encourages students to develop the habit of choosing drinks with reduced sugar content as part of their daily nutrition.
H.E. Dr. Hang Choun Naron acknowledged the contributions of the company and other stakeholders in this effort to enhance the health of Cambodian children. He highlighted the importance of proper nutrition in ensuring the physical development of children, which subsequently leads to improved learning outcomes in public schools.
