More 15 Cambodian government officials have been selected to pursue their study in the Republic of Korea for 2nd Year of the 3-year Country-Focused Training Course on Capacity Building on Monitoring and Evaluation (Cambodia) from Oct. 14-26, 2019 (13 days).
They are scheduled to leave Cambodia for the Republic of Korea on Oct.13, said a press release of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
In order to facilitate this training, on Oct. 4, KOICA Cambodia Office held a pre-departure orientation for all participants with an objective of providing all the needed information about training, life in Korea, important things in Korea, the Cambodia Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) as well as code of conduct of the training programme.
With a mission to support human resources development (HRD) in partner countries, KOICA invites talented people from Cambodia and helps them gain professional and systematic knowledge that will play a key role in Cambodia.
In response to the request from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), KOICA provided a three-year programme (2018-2020) for CDC and other relevant ministries/institutions.
The objectives of this training programme are to raise awareness of importance and necessity of and Evaluation (M and E), to set up standards and models for M and E, to strengthen capacities of officials and working groups who are in charge of M and E on development projects, to lay the foundation to set up an institutional system and policies for M and E, to enhance partnership between Cambodia and Korea by sharing knowledge and skills on M and E, and to create an environment that can promote more investment and more collaborative projects.
This 2nd year aims to enhance local capacity to set up M and E systems in specific sectors, and targets specialists in each industry.
The selected candidates showed their gratitude to KOICA and Korean government for supporting and they showed a high level of participation and commitment throughout the course to promote capacity building for a broad understanding of development projects, particularly in terms of their monitoring and evaluation.
