More Thai Shelling Reported in Cambodian Border Villages

Phnom penh: The Ministry of National Defence has reported continued attacks by Thai military forces on civilian areas in Banteay Meanchey province, particularly in the areas of Boeung Trakuon and Kok Prich villages, on Dec. 24, 2025.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:35 p.m., Thai forces fired four flare gun rounds over the Beng Trakuon area. Shortly afterward, at approximately 8:14 p.m., Thai troops used tanks to fire multiple rounds into civilian residential areas in Boeung Trakuon.

The attacks reportedly continued with additional shelling directed toward Kok Prich village, causing damage to civilian homes.

Such actions constitute indiscriminate attacks by the Thai military and represent a violation of international humanitarian law, the Ministry underlined.

Cambodian forces, it reaffirmed, responded by maintaining defensive positions and engaging in efforts to protect territorial integrity. They remain on high alert, closely monitoring the situation and continuing their defensive operations in accordance with their mandate to safeguard national sovereignty.
