Phnom penh: H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, convened a ministerial-level meeting on May 25 with a high-level delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by Ms. Lisa Wright, Alternate Executive Director (Region), to discuss cooperation in Cambodia's tourism sector. The gathering included ministers and representatives from various ministries and institutions.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Huot Hak expressed his appreciation and gratitude to ADB for its continued support and active cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia across multiple sectors. The Minister acknowledged that the partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and ADB has been instrumental in implementing significant development projects aimed at promoting eco-tourism, creating jobs, and supporting the development of a sustainable, resilient, and inclusive tourism sector.
The Minister also mentioned that the Ministry has recently received additional ADB-supported tourism development projects. These include large-scale initiatives to restore and build supporting infrastructure in key tourism destinations across the country. These projects are anticipated to improve local livelihoods, generate employment opportunities, and contribute to the conservation and sustainable development of tourism destinations.
